Clarity In Chaos (Re: Coronavirus COVID-19)

As women, finding clarity in chaos in this present day Coronavirus COVID-19 Global epidemic is fast proving to be a difficult task but therein lies the solution or at least a path leading to it.

I mean, even though, chaos these days might refer to something so simple as switching on your TV set and catching up on News, or for me, trying to find the next movie on Netflix, the latest world scare on Coronavirus COVID-19 has certainly revived that word in my mind. Trust me, if you’ve been out grocery shopping in the last few days, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Here’s the thing though, as women and leaders, we don’t get swept up by the tide, we handle it. There has never been a time to be the ”Sheroes” that we daily prove to be, than now. It’s time to step up, take control of all we cherish (life and our loved ones). We are to handle this impending disaster with clarity and confidence, such that it radiates from us to the world.

There’s just so much panic and I dare say, the only thing that should be more viral, (pun not intended) is our solidarity and confidence in tackling this.

Here are five steps I think could guide us through:

  1. Shield you and yours: Provide immune-boosting nutrition at home. HWHQ recommends Vitamin C, Garlic, Ginger and plenty of water. Constant use of disinfectant, on surfaces, utensils, CELLPHONES (I really can’t emphasize that enough) and regular cleansing of hands.
  2. Facts before fear: Get informed, lack of information may even prove to be more catastrophic than the illness itself…Then inform your household. Share only confirmed /published information with family/ friends and generally, all we usually come in close contact with.
  3. Be your brother’s (and Sister’s) keeper: As women and housewives especially, we have never been selfish, now is not the time to start, (There’s always a bigger picture in/to life). The more or sooner, we started being friends and neighbors, the sooner we’ll have a world to return to.
  4. Be alert: Stay updated, especially on the areas and location around you, that you frequently go, where newly CONFIRMED cases may have been discovered.
  5. Also, please checkout the CDC’s recommendation on how to prevent getting the virus or take care of our loved ones that may have gotten it, to prevent further spread here.

On a brighter note, here’s a golden opportunity, to look around, count our blessings, spend more time with our loved ones, make happy memories and also, together sending prayers up, for all in need.

Its also a time to revisit our hygiene standards, I mean regular washing of hands has always been (And will continue to be) an all-season weapon. Don’t touch your faces often (Well, hello! Acne, if you disobey). Stay home when sick, cover your mouth , when you sneeze or cough…..I could go on and on, my point being, nothing new here.

We all know there are so many scary things out there with potential to get us, however, this time I fear its going to be self-inflicted worry and panic that would win. If you think the statistics on Coronavirus COVID-19 are startling, check on those for stress-induced illnesses.

Stay hydrated, happy and beautiful, and that Queen, is for each and every day you are blessed with life. Nothing can and should steal your joy.

Love and Light,

Your Partner In Progress.
